A pre-composed oeuvre

During my residency at SundayMorning@EKWC I tried to pre-compose an oeuvre before I would be established enough to have someone compose one for me. I choose the medium of ceramics because of the two sidedness: the fragility on one hand and the unchangeable character on the other. I created a work that could be used in multiple exhibitions, letting my new oeuvre become part of the ‘existing’ oeuvre.

The work consists of many parts that somehow relate to each other like a modular system. The main parts are fired on different temperatures, but made with the same combination of red and white clay which resulted in different tones of the colour pink. This also means that some are sturdy and others are fragile, what will influence the use of them. In that way I tried to integrate rules in the objects led by the material.
