Pointing At Things Is The New Writing is a research that consist of 3 publications, the ceramic work Pre-composed Oeuvre, artist archive of phone pictures (2013—25), many conversations, an exhibition and a guided tour through all the elements.
The publications feature the work of artist Jeannette Slütter and includes a transcription of a conversation with fellow artist Francesca Hawker. The series delves into the concept of oeuvre, inviting the reader to participate in a dialogue about what it means, how it’s defined, and how it evolves over time.
The first part introduced this conversation. In the second part, new voices—Anouk van Klaveren, Zoë Dankert, Cara Farnan, Zoë Hollander, and Dewi Bekker—joined the discussion, adding their own questions, remarks, and anecdotes to the ongoing exploration of what defines an artistic oeuvre. The third part includes the last chapter of the conversation together with a monologue by Alicja Melzacka.
